Manchester United Spokesman: We Did Not Steal Pogba From Le Havre

Manchester United have denied claims they stole 16 year-old Paul Pogba from Le Harve.

The Red Devils had been accused of offering large sums of money to the parents of the teenage midfielder to seduce him into coming to the Premier League.

The French club denied the claims in a statement which read: "This act is even more unacceptable as it comes from a club with such stature."

However, a United spokesman told BBC Sport, "It is complete nonsense. Everything has been done within UEFA guidelines."

Pogba is the latest youngster to move to Old Trafford amid controversy resulting from Federico Macheda's equally contentious move from Lazio to United two years ago.
