Real Madrid Aren't An Arsene Wenger Style Club – Manchester United Boss Ferguson

One of the defining images of Premier League football will be the touchline battle of wits between two loyal servants to English football - Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger - throughout the late 1990s and the entirety of the noughties, and the iron-willed Scot has today spoken out over Real Madrid's unrequited flirtations with the astute Frenchman.

"I think Arsenal is his club," Ferguson told The Daily Mail, alluding to the project that has a very Wenger feel to it in north London. "He has built it in his image and it’s hard to leave it. He will never have the time to rebuild another club like Arsenal if he went off elsewhere.

"He realises that at his age. He could have gone to Real Madrid, but is Real Madrid his kind of club? I don’t think so."

Ferguson and Wenger have shared an intense rivalry at time, as their respective sides are considered amongst the most formidable in English football, however, their fiery relationship cooled somewhat as the emergence of a shared foe, Chelsea, began to sneak titles aware from their grasps in the middle of the current decade.

The two bosses have often supported each other in recent times, with Wenger outspoken on the Cristiano Ronaldo issue last summer.
