Manchester United Never Made An Offer For Inter's Davide Santon

Manchester United have never made a concrete offer for Inter defender Davide Santon as far as his agent is concerned. The representative has played down the speculation after the Italian signed a new deal with the Nerazzurri on Thursday.

Reports in England and Italy had linked the Inter starlet to the Premier League champions following his impressive maiden season in Serie A. The Nerazzurri were quick to stamp their hallmark on the player and keep him at the club by offering their man a new deal until 2014. Santon signed new terms, with his wages jumping from €100,000-per-year to €1 million.

Santon’s agent, Renzo Contratto, insists United never made a serious move regarding his client, despite the speculation.

"Saying that there was something concrete is false. Let's say that the top clubs are always interested in a good player. However, there was no concrete offer from Manchester United," the agent told Tuttomercatoweb.com.

"I think it was just the usual transfer market voices. Santon signed a new deal with Inter and he is very happy."
